Blog: Craig Wright is niet Satoshi Nakamoto

Toch
zijn er nog steeds mensen die dit wel geloven. Zij denken dat bijvoorbeeld
omdat er geen andere, betere of meer overtuigende kandidaat voor de Satoshi
Nakamoto positie voor het voetlicht is getreden en zich als zodanig heeft
bekend gemaakt. In principe klopt dit; we weten van nog ongeveer een tiental
andere Satoshi toneelspelers die het nog slechter doen in hun toneelspel als Craig Wright. Nog slechter? Ja, dat kan. Daar kan ik een andere keer nog wel
eens een paar hilarische voorbeelden van geven.

Daarnaast zijn er een aantal veel logischer (en dat is een ‘understatement’) kandidaten zoals Adam Back, Timothy May, Hal Finney, Nick Szabo, David Chaum – en laten we ook wijlen cypherpunk Len Sassaman vooral niet vergeten – die hetzij niet meer leven om hun Satoshi-schap te ontkennen (en ook bij leven weinig tot geen aanwijzingen hebben achtergelaten dat zij wel eens de uitvinder van Bitcoin zouden kunnen zijn), hetzij bij leven meerdere malen krachtig hebben ontkent dat zij iets met Satoshi Nakamoto of zijn schepping Bitcoin te maken hebben.

Daarom
moeten we het doen met het fysieke en digitale bewijs dat Craig Wright ons
geeft, om te kunnen beoordelen of we zijn claims serieus kunnen nemen dat hij
de uitvinder is van Bitcoin. Maar over dat ‘bewijs’ kunnen we kort zijn: dat is
er niet.

Er
is geen enkel onvervalst fysiek of digitaal document uit de Bitcoin jaren 2007
tot en met 2013 dat Craig Wright heeft aangeleverd in de jaren 2014 (toen zijn
Satoshi toneelspel begon) tot heden waaruit blijkt dat hij een link heeft met
de inceptie van Bitcoin. Het gaat zelfs al zo ver dat er inmiddels een heel
groot archief is van vervalsingen en geantidateerde emails, contracten en
andere papieren en digitale documenten, en dat we uit dat archief alleen maar
steeds sterker, zonder uitzondering, het beeld krijgen dat Craig Wright deze
vervalsingen allemaal zelf heeft gemaakt.

Wat ook in Craig’s nadeel
spreekt, is dat hij geen enkel verstand heeft van Bitcoin en zijn technische,
sociale, wetmatige en economische kanten. Ook kan Craig niet programmeren – zijn meest eenvoudige code is meerdere malen gekraakt – terwijl Satoshi als een zeer getalenteerd developer bekend stond. Gavin Andresen noemde hem ooit een top 10% C++ programmeur. Dan Kaminsky, een bekende security expert, heeft geprobeerd de Bitcoin code te kraken, dit lukte echter niet.

Een
ander veld waar Craig Wright, ondanks de beweringen van het tegenovergestelde
van zijn fans, ook heel slecht scoort is tekst analyse. In 2016 is de Bitcoin
whitepaper eens onderzocht, of die geschreven kan zijn door Craig. Nee dus.

technique known as stylometry to determine the authors of anonymous texts.
Juola compared Wright’s writing with texts that are attributed to Nakamoto. The
company has been tracking Nakamoto’s texts for years. John Noecker, the chief
scientist at Juola & Associates, said he does not believe Wright authored
the bitcoin white paper, based on linguistic texts. He used an analysis tool
called Envelope that condenses millions of linguistic features the company has

Laten
we als besluit van dit artikel zelf ook eens een aantal van dit soort
voorbeelden proberen te vinden, waar Craig Wright probeert te praten als een
Bitcoin expert, maar eigenlijk niks anders doet als Satoshi Nakamoto compleet
tegenspreken over zeer fundamentele Bitcoin zaken!

blijft mij echter verbazen dat er nog steeds mensen zijn die blijven geloven in
de leugens en vervalsingen van Craig Wright, zelfs na het tot zich nemen van
alle bewijs tegen hem.
